Every once in awhile I get contacted by people interested in my LinkedIn account, and it’s pretty cool and I don’t really mind the reach out. What I mind is when people leave messages with opprotunities they think I may be interested in on my work voicemail. Luckily my CTO has the same thing going on with him - but christ - the balls on these people to call my current place of employment hoping to have me interview with another gig and LEAVE A VOICEMAIL.

What’s worse is most of these opprotunities are way under my qualifications (currently the Lead Developer with a pretty big ecommerce company here…not interested in entry level Front End work) and pay scale. Sometimes I feel bad for these people; I imagine them getting harassed by the companies they hire for the same way I sometimes harass my connections at placement places (or subtly let them know I am also working with other agencies and thus turn it into a race), but read my full resume and profile. I’m not going to step down to a lesser position further away from my house.

Also, I’m not really interested in commuting to the city…plenty of jobs for me in New Jersey that pay very well…I already travel about forty minutes to Secaucus every day…that’s plenty city for me.

A good paying gig that will allow me to work from home fulltime (occasional trip to the office is understandable) is about the only thing that would get me to consider leaving my current job. Luckily for them…those opprotunities are few and far between.
